Whakamārama: He kahiwi rākau kua waimanutia, kia mānu ai i te mata o te wai, e haere ai ka hoea ki te hoe. He kupu whānui mō ngā mea ka āta hangaia hei kawe i te tangata, i te utanga, i te aha atu, ka haere i te moana, i te whenua, i te rangi rānei.

Scope Note: General term covering vessels or canoes of various types designed to carry things to a destination. This heading can apply to transportation and any mode of transport including vehicles, boats and airplanes, etc. Use a narrower term where appropriate.
